Traditional African Black Soap or Alata Saminaa is a truly natural, gentle and environmentally friendly product, with efficient hygiene and skincare properties, well recognised in the traditional African household for centuries. There are no chemicals, preservatives, fragrances or color enhances in the traditional Pure African Black Soap.
The lye that is used in the saponification process is made from the ash of (either or a combination) cocoa pod, dried banana bark, plantain skin, or the bark from the local Agow tree (harvested sustainably). Some add Sheabutter or Cocoa butter to the basic recipe when required.
Basic main ingredients: Ash of dried banana Bark and Ash of Agow Tree Bark, Coconut Oil, Palm Kernel Oil/Palm Oil.
