Batiks & Sadza Cloth

The sadza batik process, exclusive to Zimbabwe, involves applying sadza (cooked pulverized grain meal) in various shapes and patterns to the fabric. Strong dyes are then applied and left to dry. Once dry, the sadza is removed from the fabric and heated in a dryer to set the vibrant colours. It is a completely hand made process and so you can be assured each cloth is unique and individual.

The fabrics come unhemmed and can be used as wall hangings, table coverings and can be framed or mounted. They make a dramatic back piece for an ordinary space and liven up a room. They come in all different shapes and colours to match any colour scheme.
